First off, the zip file containing the version 3.4.7 appears to be infected with a virus (F-Prot immediately quarantines it) so I have installed the previous version - v3.4.2.
I believe I have v3.4.2 installed correctly as it starts working when I go to http://www.ihpa.ie/leonardo.
I then installed the Joomla component side of Leonardo - joomla/components/com_leonardo/ and added a new 'Leonardo' menu item to my site. The menu item appears correctly, but when I click on it all I get is a blank white page - http://www.ihpa.ie/index.php/comps-a-events (see last item in the second menu on the left.)
It is possible I haven't correctly completed (the rather unclear) Step 4 in the Joomla installation instructions:
I'm reading the above to suggest:
It's this path (RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /joomla/leonardo/$1) that I'm not 100% certain is correct. Now that I have run the Joomla install-component step I can't locate the .htaccess file to change the path inside it.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
I have been trying for a long time to integrate Leonardo in Joomla and I was only successful using 3.4.7 - my Norton Anti-virus did not detect any virus. It maybe worthwhile checking if it did actually detect a virus or a false alarm as 3.4.7 is what made the difference for me.
Regarding your question on how to edit the .htaccess file - that depends on whether you have joomla installed on the root of your site (http://www.mysite.com/index.php) or in a subfolder called joomla (http://www.mysite.com/joomla/index.php)
I would copy the .htaccess file to the components/com_leonardo folder after you have installed the component (as the directory will not be there before that).
If you have joomla installed on the root of your site then I would change the line to:
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /leonardo/$1
I hope this helps.
Ok, I have Leonardo v3.4.7 up an running here: http://www.ihpa.ie/leonardo but I still can't get it to work by adding it as a Joomla menu item (L-Test) - here: http://www.ihpa.ie/index.php/comps-a-events.
When I attempt to copy the edited .htaccess file into /components/com_leonardo using FileZilla FTP the file briefly appears in the directory and then appears to get deleted or removed! I've checked the attributes on this directory and they are 777.
Any ideas what's going on?
I've no idea what's going on with the .htaccess file - but if you would like copies of our config files or details of our install I am happy to help - especially as you guys are our neighbours!
which file is rteported as virus ? most probably a false alarm
The following two files are reported by F-Prot as infected:
Found file, C:\Users\Philip_2\Desktop\leonardo_xc_server3.4.7.zip->leonardo/server/validate/vali-l24.exe, infected with W32/Dopip.B.gen!Eldorado
Found file, C:\Users\Philip_2\Desktop\leonardo_xc_server3.4.7.zip->leonardo/server/validate/vali-dhv.exe, infected with W32/Dopip.B.gen!Eldorado
